Emily Heymann has a career in municipal land use planning and permitting, and is also a children’s ski instructor on the side. She is a parishioner at St. John’s in the Mountains Episcopal Church and leads the church’s social media ministry and arts ministries. Emily grew up in Roanoke, Virginia and attended the University of Virginia. She first visited Vermont after college to hike a section of the Long Trail. In fact, it was on the summit of Mt. Mansfield not far from the Chapel where she learned about the Green Mountain Club caretaker program and returned the following season. What began as a summer in Vermont turned into a fulfilling life enriched by alpine skiing, mountain biking, hiking, yoga, and community.
